Increasingly concerned by the impact of the burgeoning human population on the earth’s wild places, Jonathan and Angela (founders of The Sacred Nature Initiative) set out to evoke our historical relationship to the natural world in two large format books; Sacred Nature 1: Life’s Eternal Dance (HPH), published in 2016, and Sacred Nature 2: Reconnecting People to Our Planet (HPH), published in 2021. Volume 1 won Gold in the 2017 Independent Publishers awards (IPPY) for Photography and Volume 2 won Silver in the 2022 Independent Publishers awards (IPPY) for Photography. The intention was to engage people of all ages and backgrounds through evocative images and thought provoking words to inspire them to rediscover the sacredness in nature. 

Duotone Studios partnered with Jonathan and Angela to design both books and all of the supporting communication.
